Kevin Feige didn’t want Hugh Jackman to return in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

Hugh Jackman didn’t really have all the support when the actor was asked to return as “Wolverine” in Deadpool & Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds’ “Deadpool,” as his character have had a critically acclaimed and fan-loved farewell in 2017’s Logan.

“I said, ‘Let me give you a piece of advice, Hugh. Don’t come back’,” the head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige recalled, in an interview with Empire, telling Jackman.

Feige shared that he thought Jackman “had the greatest ending in history with Logan. That’s not something we should undo.”

The 2017 film was a hit and pleased the actor’s fanbase, thought to be a justifying goodbye for Jackman’s Wolverine.

Despite choosing to make the comeback, the decision was not easy for Jackman to take, as the star had to take his thoughts down the road for a long drive.

“I drove for another hour. Couldn’t stop thinking about it. And I got out of the car, called Ryan (Reynolds), and said, ‘Ryan, if you’ll have me, I’m in,’” The Greatest Showman star shared in the same interview.
